Metabolic Balance
Integrated metabolic strengthening and weight control

The Concept

Metabolic Balance was developed following the observation that diet plays an important role in the regulation of the body’s natural functions and therefore also has an effect on well-being and health. We are all different, and what we consider to be normal foods and eating habits, may not be suitable for each and every individual. This self-regulation within the body can easily become unbalanced, which can lead to illness and obesity.

Metabolic Balance is testimony to this:

If you go back to the cause and restore balance in the body, the symptoms of imbalance will disappear.

Some examples of this are:

  • obesity

  • allergies

  • diet-related diseases

The Nutritional Concept

Metabolic Balance is an integrated nutritional approach that is based on intensive support alongside an individual nutrition plan.

The clear and simply constructed plan will show:

  • which foods should be eaten and which should be avoided

  • in what quantities foods should be eaten

  • in which combination foods should be eaten

  • when and how these foods should be eaten

  • how the 4 phases will become a new way of life

Each plan is unique and exists only once. This is because of the way the plans are created using:

  • blood values,

  • personal measurements

  • personal details of the client.

With this information Metabolic Balance can provide a plan that it tailored to the exact needs of the client and can even include information regarding:

  • allergies,

  • illnesses, and

  • individual preferences or dislikes.

This offers a great opportunity to the growing number of people, who are already following a restricted diet – but also, for those who simply value their health.

Our most asked questioned answered

How is Metabolic Balance® scheduled?

First you need to chose your Metabolic Balance coach who will support you through each of the 4 phases in the programme. At your first appointment, your coach will take notes on your medical history and will request a blood test. Your coach will provide everything you require to do this. All blood test results and data are complied and analysed at the Metabolic Balance Institute where your personal nutrition plan will be created. Your coach will give you a copy of your plan and will fully explain all the stages necessary for you to reach your goal. Your coach will guide and support you the whole way through the programme and will always be on hand to answer your questions.

What are the phases and how long does each phase last?

There are four phases:

Phase 1 – The preparation phase – starts the detoxification process and is key in preparing your metabolism for the next stage of the programme. Phase 1 lasts for two days.

Phase 2 – The strict adjustment phase lasts for a minimum of 14 days. You will have the option to remain on this phase until you have reached your desired goal. During this phase your metabolism will slowly start to adjust and become more efficient.

Phase 3 - The relaxed adjustment phase. During this phase you can begin to bring in additional foods to your daily meal plan. With your body's new heightened sense of awareness, you should instinctively know which foods are right for you. You can also now enjoy the occasional 'treat' meal or even enjoy a glass of wine. More importantly you will learn how to have a healthy approach to these special occasions. Your coach will continue to support you and monitor your progress during this phase.

Phase 4 - The maintenance phase is the final phase. Participants can stay on this phase for the rest of their lives by following the already familiar principles. Even at this stage you will be able to remain in contact with your coach or with us via our internet forum.

Can I participate in the Metabolic Balance® Programme without a coach?

No. The success of Metabolic Balance is dependent on the supervision of a qualified coach. Coaching has been shown to greatly improve your chances of success. All our coaches have the specialist knowledge and experience to help you overcome obstacles and will prove vital in reaching your goal.

Why are there no snacks on the Metabolic Balance® Programme?

It is important to leave gaps between meals and to avoid snacking. Your body needs this time not only to fully digest the last meal, but also to rest and to repair. During this time the body is able to move into a ‘fat-burning’ metabolism. Eating between meals disrupts metabolism, as well as the normal fat-storage and fat-burning process .

Do I need to continue eating the way I did during the strict adjustment phase?

No. Once your metabolism has adjusted and you have reached your goal, you will move onto the relaxed and then the maintenance phase. You will be able to maintain your success by following most of the 8 principles you have learned. Rest assured, like most of the other participants, you will notice which foods suit you best. If at any point you find yourself relapsing, you can simply return to the strict adjustment phase to get yourself back on track again.

I am a strict vegetarian. Can I still participate in the programme?

If you, for any reason do not eat any form of animal protein (such as eggs or dairy) or you avoid soya/tofu then, unfortunately you will be unable to participate in the Metabolic Balance programme.

May I still participate in the programme even if my goal is to not lose any weight?

Yes. This will be taken into consideration during the development of your plan and adjustments will be made accordingly. Simply by taking part in the programme, you will be doing something positive for your health, fitness and vitality. Please discuss your individual goals with your Metabolic Balance coach at your first consultation.
